Your AI Assistant for the Web
Zuuby is a Chrome browser extension that provides a floating AI assistant on any webpage. It is developed and maintained by an independent developer. By installing and using Zuuby, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
This extension is not affiliated with Google, OpenAI, Groq, Mistral AI, Cohere, or any AI provider it connects to.
We collect the minimum amount of data necessary for the extension to function. Here is a complete breakdown:
| Data | Why We Collect It | Where It Is Stored |
|---|---|---|
| Google account name | To display your name inside the extension | Firebase Firestore (your account) |
| Google account email | To identify your account and enable sign-in | Firebase Firestore (your account) |
| Profile photo URL | To show your avatar inside the extension popup | Firebase Firestore (your account) |
| AI provider API keys | To make requests to AI services on your behalf | Chrome local storage + optionally Firestore |
| Last login timestamp | To track active sessions | Firebase Firestore (your account) |
Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the extension.
When you ask Zuuby a question, your query is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you have selected (e.g., Google Gemini, Groq, OpenAI). These requests go directly to the provider's API using your own API key.
When you use the right-click context menu to summarise or explain selected text, only the text you explicitly selected is sent to the AI. Full page content is never captured or sent.
Zuuby integrates with the following third-party services. Their own privacy policies govern how they handle your data:
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any AI provider whose API key you choose to use.
Your user profile (name, email, photo) is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, which is secured by Firebase Authentication. Only you — identified by your unique Google UID — can read or write your own data.
Your API keys are stored in Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local, which is encrypted by Chrome and accessible only to the Zuuby extension on your device.
We do not operate our own servers. All data storage is handled through Google infrastructure.
We may disclose data only if required by law (e.g., a valid court order), and only to the minimum extent required by that legal obligation.
You have full control over your data:
Zuuby is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
For significant changes, we will update the extension's description in the Chrome Web Store to notify users.
